New Anthology - Live From Worktown

Live From Worktown - currently presenting the first Bolton International Poetry Festival have been kind enough to find a place for my piece, 'Forklands and Flying Penguins' in their anthology.

There's still time to catch the Festival events - take a wee sneaky peak at what's on offer at the link below:

I was lucky enough to meet some of the folks involved, and I must also say a big thanks to co-organiser  Scott Devon for a grand afternoon and evening in Bolton.
I just about made it back in one piece.

Newfound Festival 2014

In May I was proud to be involved with a gorgeous new festival in Derbyshire.
For a fest in its first year, it was astonishing how well thought out and joyous the day was.
Music, Spoken Word, Art, Film all meshed together in a glorious splash of colour and inclusivity.

I don’t say it idly when I say – if you get the opportunity to be involved next year, grab that opportunity like the last party ring in the packet.

You can see the line-up here:

Check out a video of the day (apologies for my face being on it briefly a couple of times) here:

And keep up with the event – ready for next year - here:

Media Hugs from the Homestead

The Derbyshire Times – the weekly paper from the land of my family – were kind enough to waste some of their page space on me a few weeks back.  Here’s the article in full Technicolor – apologies to anyone who’s already sick of my face ;P

Evidently me in York Mix

Not too long ago the grand folks at York Mix asked how I was doing.  They then decided an article about how I was doing might tickle the eyeholes of their readers.  They then decided the best person to write such an article would be me.  Those who know me will know that writing about me (unless it's abuse) is not something that appeals to me, but they insisted and so I had a go.

To offset the self-love somewhat, I attempted to turn the article into a long plug for the wonderful Evidently - Salford open mic night where I was guesting at the time.

One & Other Magazine

Playing catch up after a very busy couple of weeks in Steve land.
Gigs, festivals, interviews, and awards.  I think I may have peaked.

Anyhoo - the lovely people over at One&Other were kind enough to do a Q & A session with me.

Here be the ramblings:
